I love exploring new places, seeing new things but marine animals has always been a passion.  Perhaps it was spending so much time in Alaskan waters wandering the beaches?  Yesterday we saw the Mecca of organisms!

While enjoying the exotic moments of scrubbing dishes with minimal fresh water I leaned over the stern to do an initial rinse of a pot and this gelatinous thing was moving by! It was sectioned with a clear lobes that formed individual funnels that opened and closed creating propulsion.  Each lobe had  a dark brown brain like area but the rest was clear like a jellyfish.  Cool a weird Greek jellyfish but it kept coming.  It ended up being approximately 25 feet long, diameter of 5 inches.  After a great search of all gelatinous ocean things we decided we had found a Salp!
